United Arab Emirates plan zero carbon desert city.


The United Arab Emirates has planned to unveil an all-new, zero carbon desert city. Seven Square Kilometres of carless will be designed to 50,000 people. This project is described as "the world's first sustainable city" which is being designed by top Brit architect Lord Foster. Solar solutions will be provided for the energy needs, this will protect the inhabitantants from 50C summer heat. Wind powers will provided by Wind Towers which will give an additional cooling for the desert breeze and prevent the hot air.


While Abu Dhabi one of the richest city in the world, each of its 420,000 inhabitants worth a nominal $17m, they are responsible for more greenhouse gas emissions per capita than any other population in tjhe world. The UAE has announced a $500m deal to manufacture thin-film solar panels in an attempt to clean up this acts.

It would be great if they build a city like this. But I think it is almost impossible to do that.
